Welcome to Parry Sound Public Library, Parry Sound,Canada. Membership at Parry Sound Public Library is available free of charge to the residents of Parry Sound, Carling and The Archipelago. Residents of McDougall also enjoy free membership as your municipality covers the cost.
Parry Sound Public Library resources can be used in the Library free of charge. It is not necessary to obtain a membership.
Non-resident members may purchase a membership at an additional cost.
The Local History Room in the Library contains a special collection of reference materials of interest to genealogists and to those interested in the history of Parry Sound and area. The Local History Room contains many resources including: * census returns for Muskoka & Parry Sound 1871,1881, 1891,1901 on microfilm * Duncan Fraser MacDonald Diaries 1871-1919 on microfilm * North Star newspaper 1879-1971 (name index up to 1965) on microfilm and 1971 to present in paper copy * microfilm machine with printer capabilities * books by and about local people * Parry Sound telephone books 1943 to present
