Pelican Bay Arts Association, Brookings United States
The purpose of the Pelican Bay Arts Association (PBAA) is to promote - through education - the enjoyment of the fine Arts and Crafts. To achieve this, they hold as many classes and workshops as possible at the Studio - The Manley Art Center, Brookings
Regular meetings include educational programs and are held the 2nd Thursday of each month, with the Pelican Bay Arts Association. Members meet informally to paint or work on crafts together.
Luncheons for members and guests are scheduled periodically.
A variety of exhibits are on display year-round at the Center which also serves as a pleasant place for members to come and work at their leisure.
The Azalea Festival Art Show is the major annual exhibition of members' work. Other exhibits are held periodically at a variety of locations.
The "Picture Rental Program" gives members an opportunity to display their work in selected public buildings and businesses.
Field trips are planned to neighboring points of interest to give members experience in painting on location - occasional Paint-outs take place at the Center.
Some of the funds raised through picture rentals and special events are used for the annual scholarship awarded to a graduating high school senior.
The Association is charged with the support of the Manley Art Center through the Pelican Bay Arts Association, Studio Endowment Fund activities.
