My love affair with Deer Isle began some 30 years ago when I crossed the bridge to the island as John Steinbeck describes in "Travels with Charley" . This was the beginning of a new life and adventure. As an artist and photographer I never tire of the island sights, how the tides and colors of the ocean change throughout the day turning soft pink and violet with the setting sun, watching the seagulls swarm around the lobster boats as they arrive at the docks with their daily catch, visiting the lily pond that most would envy and spotting a blue heron or two, seeing the sunset over the Pumpkin Islands lighthouse, visiting Sand Beach with its magnificent view, seeing the Windjammers from the days of old enter the bay. Now my dreams have come true.
