Penzance Canoe Club in Penzance, United Kingdom, was established in 1966 by a small group of local enthusiasts, and is affiliated to the BCU, the sport's governing body. Penzance Canoe Club has a thriving membership which has grown in strength to over 100. A newsletter is produced at least twice a year reporting on activities and events within the club together with a programme listing forthcoming events. The AGM is held annually in April and subscriptions are due then. Penzance Canoe Club activities include surfing, white water paddling and sea kayaking.
Members meet 6.30pm most Fridays for a paddle and a drink afterwards (April 1st - September 30th) on Albert Pier, Penzance where we have our clubhouse.
After five years John, our current chairman, has decided to make way for some new blood and will not be standing for re-election as Chair. This is your opportunity to influence the Penzance Canoe Club over a period that will see important challenges in the harbour area - give it a go.
The ground floor of the clubhouse is at last being altered to create more changing-room space for both sexes. Unfortunately the target completion date was not met, but work is ongoing. For health and safety reasons it may not be possible to use the changing-rooms on some occasions or it may be necessary to share a room (with time separation!) Please bear with us as we are sure that the changes will be worth it.
