The Petit Hotel is a delightful turn-of-the-century Victorian property close to the Square at the heart of Martinborough Wine Village and adjacent to the historic Peppers Martinborough Hotel in Wellington in New Zealand.
Set in the heart of this picturesque village in Wellington's Martinborough, the Petit Hotel was built by Northern Ireland immigrant Adam Wright in 1907 and began its life as a hairdresser/tobacconist and sporting goods store.
The property was completely refurbished in 2002 to provide boutique accommodation of the highest quality, with just four rooms each tastefully and luxuriously decorated in separate themes.
The character of the original building has been preserved by retaining original features such as the pressed tin ceilings, high ceiling studs, architraves, original wooden staircase and rimu floors.
Each individually designed room has a queen-sized bed with pure cotton sheets, en-suite bathroom, 21 inch TV, Sky Digital 5 channels, DVD player, electric blankets, iron, ironing board and heaters.
All bathrooms have marbled tiles, under-floor heating, either clawfoot baths with shower overhead or walk-in shower. Luxurious bathsheets complement our beautiful bathrooms, as do the guest robes and hairdriers.
Emergency supplies and first aid kit are provided in the hallway. The rimu bookcase contains books for guests to read, DVD's to watch and brochures on local activities and sights.
The walls feature the commissioned work of local artist Scott Tulloch, with delightful vineyard and local scenes. Scott's own house set in a vineyard features as a stunning abstract watercolour in the main stairwell.
Petit Hotel combines the luxury and comforts of a grand hotel with the privacy and ease of your own home.
