The Phoenix Museum of History is a not-for-profit corporation organized to collect, preserve, interpret and exhibit materials incident to the development of Phoenix and the Salt River Valley. The Museum is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge of the history, learning, and lore of the many cultures that have shaped Phoenix and its environs.
The swirl logo of the Phoenix Museum of History represents an ancient Hohokam symbol meaning "going up" or ascending. As paraphrased by La Van Martineau in ?The Rocks Begin to Speak?, it depicts "the upward pattern of a soaring eagle."
The Phoenix Museum of History is a sleek and elegant 20,000 square foot facility that hosts both a main gallery and a changing exhibit gallery, facilities that can be rented for events or meetings, a library and archives room featuring rare and current books on Arizona history, and a beautiful Museum store that offers unique gifts and books.
