*About Kelly Russell & the performers
Kelly, Ted Russell’s son, is an Internationally Recognized Traditional Musician and the 1997 recipient of the Marius Barbeau Award for his significant contribution to Canadian folklore. Kelly's wife, Tonya Kearley, an active promoter of authentic Newfoundland culture and heritage, who has directed venues for traditional musicians both locally and internationally, will lead the dance during the "Time."
The Pigeon Inlet,Players are a group of young people from the Bay Roberts area with Kelly & Tonya's daughters - Naomi (who performs vocals, and plays fiddle and guitar) and Tamsyn (who performs vocals and plays accordion and piano.)
The Pigeon Inlet,Players include: Ally Dawe - Vocals; Richard Porter - Vocals, guitar, bodhran; Melissa Dawe - Vocals, guitar; Stephen Power - Vocals, guitar; Luke Welsh - Fiddle; Colin Brown - Accordion; and Maggie Burton - Fiddle, whistle, flute.
