Plumbush in , , | Bed and Breakfast

Plumbush is an elegant country 1865 Victorian Bed and Breakfast in Mayville, New York, in the United States and was the family home of Wesley and Jane Ann Cornell.  Plumbush has specific characteristics which identify it as a home of the Italianate Victorian style including a central tower, L-shaped floor plan, rounded arches over windows, double wide entrance door, detailed cornice trim, etc.
The Cornell Family have many ties to Chautauqua Institution.  Wesley was well known as a prosperous farmer, a sawmill owner and a Chautauqua Lake Steamboat owner. His brother, William, was the Chautauqua postmaster and had a shop on the grounds for the sale of souvenirs, engraved glass and art goods. Another brother, George, provided ice for the community. William Cornell's son, Lawrence, was the manager of the Hotel Athenaeum early in the 20th century.
Sandra and George Green purchased the home in 1987.  The Greens completely restored the house, built a beautiful barn, and created the Plumbush Bed and Breakfast.   Plumbush sits on 5 acres of lovely countryside with each window looking out to nature at its most beautiful, no matter the season.
With towering oaks, rolling hills and soft meadows, it is always a breath taking experience for guests. Bert and Mary Rappole purchased Plumbush in November of 2005. They have decorated each room in unique style while keeping the heritage of the Cornell family and the restoration of this farm house by the Greens in mind.
