Welcome to New Westminster Police Museum, New Westminster, Canada. When the new Police Service building opened in September 2001, a second unique event occurred; a new Police Museum was also opened! Located in the lobby of the new police station at 6th and Columbia Streets, (the old Federal Building) the New Westminster Police Museum consists of over 1300 square feet of space right in the heart of the historic downtown core of the City.
On display are items the Police Service has used during it's 128 year history. Items such as a 1958 Harley Davidson police motorcycle, a replica jail cell, firearms, and much more. The New Westminster Police Historical Society was incorporated in early 2001 as a Society under the Societies Act of British Columbia. Formed mainly to manage and preserve the Police Service's historical archives, the Society also operates and maintains the New Westminster Police Museum.
The Museum is open to the public seven days per week during normal business hours and admission is free. Please drop by to see the newest addition to the great historical sites in New Westminster.
