Red Butte Garden, a part of the University of Utah, is a non-profit organization located in Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States.   With over 100 acres including display and natural gardens, walking paths and natural area with hiking trails,  Red Butte Garden is the largest botanical and ecological center in the Intermountain West that tests, displays and interprets regional horticulture.
Red Butte Garden offers something for everyone.   The whole family can enjoy activities year-round. Check the calendar see our wealth of offerings,   concerts, Gardening classes, festivals, events, and exhibits happening throughout the year.
Red Butte Garden cultivates the human connection with the beauty of living landscapes.  We do this through plant displays and collections, education, conservation, and as a setting for cultural enrichment and events.
In 1999, the Children's Garden opened with the nationally renowned exhibit, David Rogers' Big Bugs.  Just 3 short years later, the Richard K. Hemingway Orangerie opened.   Today  Red Butte Garden remains a part of the University of Utah in Salt Lake City,  and is the largest botanical garden that tests, displays and interprets regional horticulture in a 400 mile radius.   Red Butte Garden has 18 acres of display gardens and 2-3 miles of hiking trails.
