At The Red House Bed and Bath in Deer Isle, we have been welcoming travelers to the coast of Maine, Penobscot Bay, in the United States, since 1995. Following a devastating fire in 2001, we built a new Red House. It is our pleasure to share our special home year-round. The Red House Bed and Bath is spacious and quiet, with a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
The temperate maritime weather of Deer Isle, Maine, is a welcome relief from sweltering summer heat. Clear night skies encourage unparalleled stargazing of the Milky Way, the midsummer Perseid Showers and Northern Lights in the cool nights of autumn.
Our big deck overlooks granite ledges and gardens, looking down toward the water. It is a great spot for watching birds, enjoying the sun, a good book and a glass of wine. It is just a short walk down to the water for a cold swim and views of the Eggemoggin Reach. We are also only 1/2 mile to a public beach and many walking trails protected by the Island Heritage Trust.
The Green Room at The Red House Bed and Bath is a spacious upstairs room with queen bed, cable TV, reading corner. It shares a bath.
The Peach room is a bright upstairs room with water view, double bed, reading nook, cable TV. It shares a bath.
The Blue Suite is situated downstairs by the entry and has a queen bed, huge closet and a private full bath. We recommend this room for the less able as it is just one step up from outside. There is a grab bar in the tub-shower.
