The Restaurant at Deetjens, Big Sur, California, United States

Started in 1938 in Big Sur county, little has changed to alter the quiet ambience of The Restaurant at Deetjens and breakfast and dinner is still served in one of four intimate candlelight rooms accompanied by soft classical music. Breakfast can also be served on our outside patio if weather permits.

There is great local Californian and organic produce to choose from, everything from Big Sur Chanterelles to spicy micro greens. They serve meats from companies that practice sustainable farming and fishing such as organic filet mignon, New Zealand venison, organic Scottish Salmon and Pacific Halibut.

The Restaurant at Deetjens is open seven days a week serving breakfast and dinner. The breakfast features their famous eggs benedict as well as French toast, Smoked Salmon, homemade granola and of course Huevos Rancheros. The dinner menu changes often and reflects what is seasonally available for an interesting and hearty blend of flavors.

To complement the dining fare our Wine steward select for our cellar an excellent representation of quality Wines for our diners? pleasure.
