Welcome to the Restaurant at the Y Meirionnydd Hotel in Dolgellau, Wales, United Kingdom. The cosy restaurant oozes a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Guests chat between tables and stay around to enjoy easy conversation. In some ways it?s hard to believe that this 17th Century cellar served as a rather austere county jail house until 1815. Clues to this are given by the walls of solid granite and the floor of huge slate slabs. Atmospheric and intimate, a warm welcome is assured.
The food is simple but great. The chef specialises in straightforward dishes that are beautifully cooked with a minimum of fuss.
The menu at Restaurant at the Y Meirionnydd Hotel always features steaks, fish, lamb, poultry and a vegetarian option. Our chips are hand-cut, our side salads generous.
The wine list is small but perfectly formed. It complements our menu superbly and is reasonably priced. The list offers local Welsh wine, as well as New and Old world wines. Ales and ciders are all proudly Welsh.
The breakfasts are a great start to the day, featuring locally made sausages and bacon, jams and marmalade from Pen Llyn and free range eggs from Glanaber Farm near Llangadfan. We're happy to make up packed lunches for a day spent out and about.
Enjoy dining at the Restaurant at the Y Meirionnydd Hotel, Dolgellau, Wales, United Kingdom.
