Set in a private lane in the pretty village of Portinscale, Keswick which is on the north-westerly tip of Lake Derwentwater, United Kingdom, is Rickerby Grange Hotel.  Now a ten bedroom country house Hotel, it was originally built at the turn of the century by a local farmer for his daughter. It was, as its name implies, 'The Grange' to Rickerby House, which is situated close by the village.

Set in its own gardens, Rickerby Grange Hotel offers a friendly ambience in peaceful surroundings, overlooked by Skiddaw, Cat Bells and Causey Pike.  All areas of the Lake District are easily accessed, making Portinscale the perfect base from which to explore this magnificent corner of England.

Our traditional, freshly prepared four-course dinners are prepared with care and imagination and served in the dining room.   A carefully selected wine list compliments our cuisine during an evening at Rickerby Grange Hotel.

All bedrooms at  Rickerby Grange Hotel are all centrally heated and equipped with colour television, telephone and hospitality tray.  All but one are fully en-suite, with a choice of bath or shower. We have a ground-floor bedroom.

In Portinscale, a boat club and marina with wind surfing and canoeing facilities nestle quietly on the lake. 

A bridge over the rive Greta links Portinscale and Keswick with a footpath, a lovely walk with glorious views.  Portinscale is an ideal location for those who appreciate the delights of the countryside with the convenience of town close by.
