Welcome to River Mead, our self-catering barn in Kingsbridge, England, United Kingdom. River Mead is perfect for large gatherings of up to ten people and comfortable enough for just two people seeking a quiet place to stay.
River Mead is situated below the farmhouse at Park Farm, and right beside the Salcombe Estuary in Kingsbridge, England. Access to the water is a one minute walk down the field, and launching small boats, wind-surfers and canoes etc is easy on the tide. We have moorings you can borrow while you are here and our visitors are welcome to enjoy the farm, the animals and the lake.
The living area extends over the whole of the top floor, and the large picture window gives wonderful views of the lake and farmland which fronts the estuary, with rolling countryside beyond.
The kitchen is fitted with an oil fired Aga style cooker, separate hob, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator; the dining area has a large elm table and chairs to seat 10; the sitting room has a comfortable sofa, chairs, TV, DVD and CD player. There is a separate entrance hall and utility area with washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge-freezer. The staircase leading down to the bedrooms below is fitted with a stair gate.
The ground floor contains all four bedrooms and the bathrooms. The master bedroom has a five-foot-wide bed, en-suite shower room and river views. The second master bedroom has twin beds, en-suite shower room, river views and a dressing room area suitable for an extra bed or cot. The two further double bedrooms, which share a bathroom, both have twin beds.
At the rear of the house there is an old dairy which can be used for wet or sandy clothes and equipment.
