Mauritius is a small world in itself nested between Africa and Asia in the Indian Ocean.
This small island surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and protected by a coral reef was explored in the past by Arabs and Portuguese. It was colonised by the Dutch, the French and finally by the British.
The Island became an independent state in 1968. With sustained economic expansion, this island is a small and united nation of just over a million inhabitants living in peaceful cohabitation; Hindus, Muslims, Catholics, Protestants, Buddhists; whether they be of Indian, Chinese, French or African origins, or a melting pot of all of them, everyone forging a unique destiny together.
