# Guerneville Drake's Beach: NORTH STAR (sleeps 10) is a block-and-a-half from LUV SHACK (sleeps 2); BEACH RETREAT (sleeps 6) is the third house east from NORTH STAR; NORTHERN EXPOSURE (sleeps 12) is the third house further east. This is a very noise-sensitive area; absolutely no large congregations at one house (congregating down on the beach is fine) and no loud music at any time. Neighbors are intolerant of disturbances.

# Guerneville West of Downtown: GUERNEWOOD LANDING (sleeps 6) and JOHNNY'S LANDING (sleeps 4) are next door neighbors; BIRD CAGE (sleeps 5) and AVALON (sleeps 8), a few doors apart, are a short block west.

# Guerneville East of Downtown: PARADISE (sleeps 8) and TWIN PALMS (sleeps 7) are two doors apart.

Guerneville, with about 3500 residents, is the largest of the lower Russian River towns, located mid-way between Santa Rosa/Hwy 101 and the coast/Hwy 1. With a three block square downtown, the majority of the area restaurants, shops, and taverns are located here.

Although Guerneville has a substantial family orientation as a travel destination, it is also a destination for gay travelers. There are a few gay resorts and bars. There are also two larger resorts and a number of smaller resorts that cater primarily to a straight clientele.

Wine Tours: Enjoy the wine-tasting and leave the driving to your personal driver who will escort up to 14 guests through the Russian River wine country. California Rivers' tour driver is a complete charmer and provides a wonderful luncheon featuring locally grown and hand-processed foods. Choose from pre-selected winery tours or customize your own. California Rivers also offers scenic tours of gardens, out-of-the-way villages, and coastal destinations. Not to be missed!

Hiking/Bicycling/Kayaking combined with Wine-Tasting Tours

* Hiking from Shell Beach along the Pomo Canyon trail, gourmet lunch at Armstrong Woods State Park with a gentle walk in the redwood forest, and wine-tasting along Westside Road in the afternoon. Occidental area to the coast, includes fabulous coastal vistas and a redwood forest.

* All-day hiking in the coastal range with a gourmet lunch along the trail; half-day hiking with half-day kayaking on the river; half-day hiking with half-day wine-tasting at several small premium wineries.

* Bicycling in the Dry Creek Valley or Westside Road loop, with wine-tasting along the way.

* All tours are escorted by experienced tour guides, who have access to private, pristine areas otherwise not accessible to the public. Groups generally limited to seven, but larger groups may sometimes be accommodated. Multi-day tours and van tours also available.
