Salish Sea Charters has year-round whale watching and wildlife tours departing from locations in both Seattle and the San Juan Islands. We truly do "Start where the whales ARE!"

Visit the San Juan Islands from May to October for prime orca whale watching. Minke whales can also be seen throughout the summer. And October is becoming a great time to see humpback whales in the San Juans. (We saw them every day in October until we came to Seattle for our winter orca tours.) November through January finds the resident orcas near Seattle and then from February to May the grey whales move in to Puget Sound.

Whales aren't all you will see. An amazing assortment of wildlife calls the Salish Sea home; stellar sea lions, harbor seals, eagles, herons, Dall's Porpoise and more. Elmer, the whale-watching dog, especially enjoys watching the porpoise bow ride with the boat and you will too.

Our boat, the Stellar Sea, features a wrap around viewing deck and heated cabin for your comfort. Our experienced naturalist is on board to educate you about the local habitat and answer any questions. We also include a complimentary sandwich buffet with your tour.
