The Salt Lake Gallery Association (SLGA) is a partnership of independently owned and operated art galleries, Visual Arts-related businesses, and sponsors, created to provide a unified voice on issues of mutual concern within the local Visual Arts community. Salt Lake Gallery Association strives to advance standards of artistic excellence, raise public awareness, and stimulate growth in the Visual Arts industry in Salt Lake City and surrounding areas in the United States.
Salt Lake City enjoys a creative exuberance that manifests itself in high quality, diverse, and thought provoking art. The many art galleries in our community provide the basis for a lively art experience. Regardless of whether you are a collector or not, there is much to be gleaned by pure association.
Founded in 1983, the Salt Lake Gallery Association began as a small consortium of fine art galleries. Today we encompass over twenty members and our common goal remains the promotion of the best art Salt Lake City has to offer. Through exhibitions, collections, temporary projects and outreach programs, the Salt Lake Gallery Association offers enjoyment and opportunities for culture, inspiration, inquiry and reflection.
The Salt Lake Gallery Association seeks to remove intellectual, social and physical barriers to the enjoyment and understanding of art, we strive to broaden our audience and improve the quality of their experiences. To that end, our galleries stay open until 9 PM on the third Friday of every month for the Salt Lake Gallery Stroll, providing an opportunity for art enthusiasts to tour their exhibits after hours.
