The Home Front Experience
In our cellar WW2 Air Raid Shelter, we have items displayed of the war on the Home front - from fireguards, to ARP wardens and bomb disposal - aspects of air raid precautions and many items that our older customers remember with nostalgia. The background music is taken from the archives of the period.
2000 years of British History from the foreshore of the River Thames
Chris has a long standing interest in archaeology ? in particular he used to spend time ?mud-larking? on the Thames foreshore. He has put together a fascinating display of some of his finds including roman and medieval coins, pottery and artefacts (with even a tudor childs shoe!) with detailed information on their history.
