Scaldisnet, with its office in Brussels, wants to encourage, support and develop initiatives and projects around recreation, education and tourism with an accent on respect for nature and the environment, on the rivers and canals of the basin of the river Scheldt and its surroundings.
The navigable waterways of this basin extend themselves over three countries (France, Belgium and the Netherlands) and five regions (the french region Nord-Pas-de-Calais, the flemish region, the region of brussels and the walloon region and the dutch province of Zeeland).
Going from an integral and cross-border approach, Scaldisnet works for a more intense and better collaboration, as well as a mutual agreement between all parties concerned, namely : the communities, the provinces, the regional governments, the administrator of the navigable waterways, the operators of tourist attractions, the guide associations, the tourist offices, the developers of nature reserves, the users of the waterways, etc.
To other government institution, Scaldisnet offers its specific know-how and services, such as the advice and counselling on projects, the studies, the animation, promotion and communication campaigns around waterways, etc.
