Serene Estate Guest House is situated at the border of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park (new name for St. Lucia Greater Wetland Park) in KwaZulu-Natal.
Serene Estate Guest House's architecture is a specific Dutch design based on Nouvelles Formes (bend lines) and new to South Africa.
The 4 spacious and very luxurious Guest Rooms have via big windows a direct view onto the park and guests can enjoy the bushbuck, red duiker, monkey, mongoose, bush baby and a variety of birds and insects. After sunset sometimes hippos can be spotted and if you are lucky even a leopard.
St. Lucia Estuary is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, KwaZulu-Natal's coastal World Heritage Site. It is the last pristine subtropical area and largest wetland in Africa. The park is characterised by a broad diversity of local and migratory wildlife, marine and bird species. This area is free of malaria.
The nature in KwaZulu-Natal is very divers and colourful. We have tried to bring this atmosphere into the 4 rooms, they are bright, large and have big windows with a wide pivot door to your private garden and terrace. Each room has a comfortable sitting area and is fitted with air-conditioning (heating & cooling), ceiling fan, mini bar, satellite DSTV with 12 channels, safe, king size bed with Auping mattresses, wireless internet connection , hairdryer, coffee and tea facilities.
The very luxurious rooms are situated at the border of the park with a direct view onto landscaped gardens of the Wetland Park. Guests can enjoy the bushbuck, red duiker, monkey, mongoose, bush baby, a variety birds and insects and at night the hippo. The silence and the constant sound of the sea reminds you where you are.
The bathroom is very luxurious with a bath and a separate shower and for the real swimmer there is a big saltwater pool with rim flow (12X5 meter) and 2 large sun decks.
