Welcome to the Sheringham Lifeboat Station, Sheringham, United Kingdom. The Sheringham Lifeboat Station is run entirely by volunteers committed to saving lives at sea.

The Sheringham Lifeboat Station was established in 1838 when the Hon. Mrs Charlotte Upcher provided the lifeboat 'Augusta'. In 1894 this boat was replaced by 'Henry Ramey Upcher' another Lifeboat funded by the Upcher family. The first RNLI boat, 'Duncan' was sent in 1867, she was launched from a carriage and was housed at the East of the town near the Crown Inn.

The current Lifeboat house was constructed in 1936 for Sheringham's first motor Lifeboat - 'Foresters' Centenary'.

Schools and other organisations are welcome to visit the Sheringham Lifeboat Station at any time of the year, please call in advance and we will try to arrange for some of the crew to be available to give you a guided tour of the boathouse and equipment, and answer any questions.
