Shieldaig Lodge is one of the few remaining traditional Highland shooting Lodges in the United Kingdom which still opens its doors to the public. Situated a short distance from the Highland village of Gairloch on the shores of Loch Gairloch, Shieldaig Lodge retains the warm and welcoming atmosphere of its original 19th century origins.

With real fires, snug lounges and traditional whisky bar and all set within its own sheltered bay, Shieldaig Lodge truly is the perfect place to escape to.

And our country and seaside setting is picture perfect for that extra special wedding venue.

Peace, tranquility and glorious scenery
Shieldaig Lodge, the shooting lodge for Shieldaig Forest, still offers the hospitality and comfort reminiscent of Victorian times, when it could take a week by train and steamer to reach the estate.

Bedrooms
The bedrooms all have more than a touch of olde worlde charm, and most enjoy a superb outlook over Loch Gairloch or the surrounding hills. All rooms have sea or hill views with en suite and coffee and tea making facilities.

Gardens
In the grounds of Shieldaig Lodge are The Captains Cabin and The Gamekeepers Cottage. Both are traditional rustic self catering Cottages which can sleep up 4 guests. The Cottages are ideal for lovers of the outdoors with both having real fires and frequent visits from pine martens and a veritable paradise for bird watchers.

The Cottages
The 2 Traditional Cottages of Shieldaig
"The Captain's Cabin" and "The Gamekeeper's Cottage", are both traditionally and comfortably furnished, sleeping upto 4 with the option of using the Lodge's dining facilities.

Both have an open fire and electrical heaters but thanks to the surrounding hills, there is no signal for a TV reception.

The Keeper's Cottage is also about 500 yards away from the roadside allowing only 4 wheel drive vehicles access. The Lodge will be happy to use our own off road vehicle to assist with your supplies if necessary.
