My dad, like most Americans, has always loved a great steak. When my dad came to Miami, he couldn't find a great steak anywhere. Therefore, when the Graham Family asked him to partner up to open the first Shulas Steakhouse, he knew it was an opportunity he could not pass up. The Graham Family, who were already restauranteurs for decades, are proud breeders of Angus cattle. Only 8% earn the Premium Black Angus Beef® brand.



My dad's goal was to build the best steak house in Miami, which became one of the top ten steak houses in America. This success resulted in our expansion with a restaurant in almost every NFL city and now we have become one of the top five steak houses in the United States.



In order to be the best, he followed the same principles that made him the winningest coach in football history - select the best talent available and give them the resources they need to succeed. In the restaurant business, that meant serving Premium Black Angus Beef® steaks, the best beef money can buy and providing our restaurant team with the best training. In terms of our restaurant team, he ran it like a sports team. In sports, one's performance is based on results - either you win or lose. The same is true for our restaurant team. Our managers are called Head Coaches and they have the authority to manage the team as they see fit to ensure repeated winning seasons.

Each restaurant is themed after the 1972 Miami Dolphins' "Perfect Season" - the only team in NFL history to finish a season undefeated. The menus are hand painted on an official NFL game football. At Shulas Steakhouse, one of the featured entrees is the 48-Ounce Porterhouse. Those who finish it join Shulas 48-Ounce Club, which currently has more than 26,000 members.
