Sligo Aeronautical Club Ltd. - formerly Sligo Aero Club Ltd. - prides itself on its 25 year record of expert and safe flight instruction. With an interest in Aviation as the common denominator, it is an ideal environment in which to initially test your enthusiasm for flying, achieve your objective of becoming a recreational flyer (PPL) or, for those whose interest is in making a career of flying, to gain solid practical instruction and good airmanship.
We are located on the Northwest Coast of Ireland at Sligo Airport, Strandhill, Co. Sligo - a modern Regional airport whose facilities comprise of a Terminal Building, Restaurant, Bar, ample parking facilities and car hire. It has a 1200 metre tarmac runway with lighting, NDB and DME. We are home to quite a selection of old and new aircraft, the Helicopter (Sikorsky S61) Search and Rescue base for the Northwest region and frequent aerobatic and parachute operations.
Strandhill village - a surfing Mecca - is a mere 10 minutes walk and has a good range of accommodation, bars and restaurants.
