Welcome to our Pub
The Smugglers Rest is a family-run business situated in the pretty stone-built village of Mortehoe surrounded by beautiful countryside and within walking distance of the beaches and coves of the North Devon coast.
The owner, Brenda Guinan, runs the Pub with her daughter Penni and they have been here in Mortehoe for four years. Opening daily for the lunchtime session, and again in the evening, the inn attracts a clientele of all ages from the local villages as well as seasonal visitors to the area.
The bar offers London Pride as a permanent real ale and a further, locally brewed ale as a guest in the summer months. Freshly prepared food is available with a varied menu selection that includes fresh oysters and other seafood. Meals can be enjoyed in the separate non-smoking dining room or outside in the rear garden when the weather is fine.
We offer a varied, freshly prepared menu including vegetarian and specialist dishes. Food can be enjoyed either in the bar area, the non-smoking restaurant or in the garden on a fine day. Our permanent menu includes all your favourite Pub meals including sirloin steak, roast chicken and children's meals, and we have a large range of daily specials where you will find such culinary delights as fresh sea bass, dressed crab salad and steak and ale pie.
The Smugglers accommodation, ranging from twin rooms through to the family suites, allows us to cater for up to 24 people. All rooms are en-suite and have tea & coffee making facilities.
