The Snug Pub in Oak Bay, Vancouver Island, Canada | Pub

The Pub style lounge, known as The Snug, gets its name from the old English custom of the past to have one room reserved for those patrons who, for social or other reasons, did not wish to be seen in the Public bar. This room was known as The Snug, and its clientele was often surprising. The local Bobbie on his rounds would nip in for a quiet pint, the Vicar for his evening sherry; other notables would use The Snug for their clandestine visits. Today, The Snug retains its ambience and atmosphere and is the ideal place to meet with friends and to enjoy excellent Pub fare and a fine array of local and imported ales.
