South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club in Gwynedd, Wales, United Kingdom, has organised races since its founding in 1924 and has hosted many National, European and World Championships. The major annual dinghy events are the Annual Abersoch Dinghy Week and Abersoch Mirror Week are run from the beach. These are run separately from all other events and attract nearly 500 dinghys to the two events.
The Clubhouse at South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club has an idyllic position on a rock outcrop overlooking Cardigan Bay, with stunning views towards Snowdonia, St. Tudwal's Islands and the West Coast of Wales. Lying just offshore are the moorings for numerous keelboats, with visitors moorings available.
Sailing takes place in the surrounding waters of Cardigan Bay, Gwynedd, Wales, with races being held for IRC and PYS keelboats, National Squibs, Sportsboats, Seabird Half Raters and various dinghy classes. A launch service operates from South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club jetty from May until September which is of course also available to visitors. Bona Fide visitors are encouraged to come and enjoy our facilities in what must be one of the most spectacular sites in the UK.
