The Spocott Windmill in Cambridge, Maryland, is a clever reconstruction of an original windmill that was built in 1852, and reconstruction of this interesting windmill took
place in 1972. After completion of the windmill, many buildings moved to this site, establishing a unique village which The Spocott Windmill Foundation now maintains. The
aim of this foundation is to work in conjunction with other organization to preserve the culture and history of the area. Stores and businesses established on site at The
Spocott Windmill include a Museum and Gift shop, country store, blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, post office and more, and access to the windmill and buildings are free of
charge and visitors are welcome to enjoy self tours throughout the year.
