Established in 1995, Stag's Hollow Winery is one of the hidden Wineries and undiscovered gems in the South Okanagan Valley located in Okanagan Falls, British Columbia in Canada.
Nestled in the hills, Stag's Hollow Winery is surrounded by vineyards, mountains and large tracts of land owned by the Nature Trust. From the beginning, hands on owners, Larry Gerelus & Linda Pruegger, believe their passion and involvement in every aspect of the vineyard and Wine making process has created a unique style. This style is a fusion of both Old and New world.
Stag?s Hollow Wines are handcrafted and of limited production. Our style is a fusion of old and new world. Stag?s Hollow produces approximately 4500 cases annually. Wines are produced from both Estate grapes and grapes purchased from smaller growers throughout the South Okanagan. Our growers have been specially selected for both their commitment to quality and their sharing of Stag?s Hollow?s passion for excellence.
Production of small lots allows us the time to carefully monitor and grade each barrel of Wine as it matures. In a year of superb growing conditions, a number of our barrels may develop into something truly special. These Wines become our "Renaissance" Wines. A Renaissance Wine is not made consistently every year but rather when the Wine is of exceptional quality in that vintage.
This is exemplified in our very popular Sauvignon Blanc, which some critics have likened to a Sancerre from France, while others say it leans more to a New Zealand style. We like to think it is uniquely Stag?s Hollow, expressing the terroir of the Okanagan with minimal Wine making intervention.
From the day the vineyard was purchased in 1992, concerns for the environment have been a priority at Stag?s Hollow in Okanagan Falls, British Columbia. A geothermal system was built into our home and Winery building in 1995 at a time when going ?green? was not yet the thing to do. When space in this facility ran out, a new Winery building was constructed in 2005, which again included a geothermal system. This system heats and cools the Winery building, heats and cools all the Wine tanks and provides different heating and cooling requirements to the barrel room, fermentation room and Wine storage areas.
In addition, high efficiency windows, energy efficient lighting, and high insulation values were utilized throughout the building. All these environmental initiatives earned Stag?s Hollow recognition from Fortis British Columbia and the Federal Government in 2006.
Most deliveries will be made by DHL Canada who will deliver directly to your door. Delivery address used must have someone available during the day to receive the Wine. We have found that a business address works best as there is always someone to receive a package during business hours.
