Stavros Beach in Stavros, Chania, Greece | Beach

Stavros is 17km from Chania on the Chania - Kounoupidiana - Horafakia road, near the north tip of the Akrotiri Peninsula. In the area of Stavros there are two sandy Beaches, one of them with a nice small anchcorage and green-blue waters, right on the foot of a large humpback-shaped barrow. That very place was used for the famous movie "Zorba the Greek" with Anthony Quinn. During the summer, the two Beaches in Stavros are very popular especially among the locals. They are also equipped with umbrellas and are surrounded by quite a few tavernas, coffee-shops, rooms for rent and hotels.
