For a wonderful holiday in the Nelson region of New Zealand, stay at our luxury beachfront lodge, Summerspring Lodge, in beautiful Golden Bay's main township of Takaka. Here you can enjoy a range of activities and explore the natural beauty of nearby Abel Tasman National Park, Pohara and other local beaches, Farewell Spit, the West Coast, and Kahurangi National Park and the Heaphy Track. This corner of New Zealand truly is one of the Nelson regions most spectacular hidden treasures.

Summerspring Lodge provide luxurious guest accommodation in three units in Takaka. The exterior of the building is clad with stained macrocarpa, while inside it has a stylish modern decor that has been described as typically European. Most ceilings have a macrocarpa timber finish, the walls are painted in fresh colours, and the bathrooms are fully tiled and have walk-in showers.

Downstairs in the main building is the Sea View Self-contained Unit, with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a private deck and lawn, and a large porch. Also downstairs is the hosts' living accommodation. Upstairs, on each corner of the lodge and separated by a lounge area, are the Panorama Studio and Ocean View Studio. These two studios are accessed via the upstairs balcony, and also have internal access from the Sea View Self-contained Unit when the lodge is rented out as a whole.

Sea View Self-contained Unit (sleeps 4)
A two-bedroom self-contained unit, with two king-size beds that convert into singles as required. Downstairs, with views facing north to the sea. Two equal-sized carpeted bedrooms, each with a king-size bed that converts into singles. Fully tiled modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. Fully equipped kitchen with a ceramic hob, microwave, high-quality stainless-steel pans, fridge and washing machine. Open-plan living/dining area, with a dining table, two sofas, and cupboards and a wardrobe for clothes, bags and suitcases. Wooden deck leading onto the garden and with a sea view. Tiled porch with a sea view and direct access to the garden. A gas BBQ is available for use here.

Ocean View Studio (sleeps 2)
A studio with a king-size bed that converts into two singles, and a balcony with ocean views. Upstairs on the west corner of the building, with views of the ocean to the north, and inland to the west and south. Bedroom/living area , a fully carpeted open-plan area with a wooden ceiling, measuring about 26sq m. There is a king-size bed that converts into two singles, and a lounge area with chairs and a table facing out to the ocean. Fully tiled modern bathroom with walk-in shower. Electric jug, electric egg boiler, toaster, crockery and cutlery, glasses, small fridge, and complimentary tea and coffee. The fully covered balcony offers beautiful views of the ocean, along with shade from the sun and shelter from the rain.
