Sweetwater Wines in Hunter Valley, Australia, forms the cornerstone of the exclusive Sweetwater Ridge subdivision that was developed in the late 1990's by Hardie Holdings Pty Limited.
Sweetwater Wines sits on the site of some of the oldest plantings in the Hunter Valley, dating back to 1829 when Richard Jones was granted 10,000 acres in the Parish of Belford, where he managed his property and established one of his finest vineyards in the Patrick Plains Shire at Sweetwater Creek, ff Old North Road.
From these beginnings the vineyards of Sweetwater Wines in Hunter Valley survived and continued to resist the weathering of time. The property has continued to prosper and whilst ownership has changed over the preceding 150 years, the vineyard has showed great fortitude and survived drought and the changing fortunes of successive owners.
Sweetwater Wines has produced Shiraz, Verdelho, Rose and Cabernet Sauvignon. Future vintages will include the Hunter's premium white, Semillon.
