Syzygy Art Gallery is located in Coral Bay on the Island of St. John ,Virgin Islands.
Syzygy Art Gallery, a personable, working art studio and gallery, is now found on the upper deck of the Cocolobo Shops in Coral Bay on St. John .
Overlooking the Aqua Bistro restaurant and bar, a popular meeting place and dining spot for both locals and island visitors, it shares a lovely large deck with 3 fine & fun boutiques, Big Fish, Little Fish and the Sugar Apple as well as with a terrific deli and breakfast spot, the Big Belly Deli.
The view is fabulous, the Bay of Coral Bay is right there with the Caribbean Sea beyond.
Syzygy Art Gallery has been through a lot of changes since its inception 15 or so years ago.
Apart from the unique and exciting works of Barr you will have the chance to see fine works of art by other Virgin Island resident artists such as Liz Ford, Lisa Etre, Les Anderson, Bryan McKinney, Viki Brown, Aphrodite, Mandy Thody and Annie Caswell. You will also be able to find works by Lisa Crumrine, Moe Kunsch, and Marie Lou Pichon of St Barths.
The works displayed represent such media as oils, acrylics, raku clayworks, collages, limited edition prints, watercolours, different genres of locally made jewellry and, as always, mosaics.
The art is not all confined within the gallery; it starts there but when the Caribbean breeze is calm enough the art tumbles out the doorway onto the the deck where it beckons the plaza guests.
Succumbing to the temptation to explore, the visitor will find the gallery's interior wall space bright and cheerful. Caribbean sunlight shines through the many colourful sun catchers and unique moving sculptures hanging in the window and doorway, and the breeze moves through bringing life to all the work displayed.
Syzygy Art Gallery is a casual spot with great art and friendly conversation. During season it is open everyday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. The off season hours are a little less predictable.
