See, hear and do at one of the most enjoyable attractions in Edmonton, Canada. This Telephone Historical Centre is the largest of its type of Museum in North America. Perfect for all ages. A special highlight is our multi-media presentation featuring Xeldon, the talking robot and great historical footage of Edmonton.
The Telephone Historical Centre opened to the public in 1987. It was founded by a group of ED TEL retirees who were dedicated to preserving the history of the telephone in the Edmonton area.
In May 2005, the Centre relocated to the Prince of Wales Armoury. Please visit us in this historic building.
The Telephone Historical Centre boasts an extensive collection of antique telephones and telecommunications technology. The telephone artifacts and replicas in the collection trace Edmonton’s telephone history as it evolved from manual to automatic switching.
