Welcome to the Thorncliffe Bed and Breakfast, Windermere, England, United Kingdom. The Thorncliffe Bed and Breakfast dates from 1898 and was built from traditional Lakeland slate. It is ideally situated in a quiet residential area between the villages of Windermere and Bowness, in the English Lake District. It is only a short walk to the many shops, pubs and restaurants which both villages offer, and a 10 - 15 minute walk to Lake Windermere. Parking is on-street, but there isn't usually a problem finding a space.
The house which has recently been refurbished and modernised, has many of the original features but also has a light, contemporary feel, with original works of art decorating the walls.
The stunning landscape of the Lake District awaits you, with miles of well maintained footpaths there are many high or low level walks to choose from. Mountain bikers are also well catered for, with specific cycle tracks at Grizedale and Whinlatter Forests. The South Lakes area also offers many miles of safe roads enabling exploration without going off-road.
There is a television, hospitality tray, a range of toiletries, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, wine glasses, a corkscrew, and a selection of books and magazines. There are also a few games that can be borrowed. All linen and towels are provided. The floor boards have been stripped, so you may wish to bring a pair of slippers.
The Lakeland towns and villages of Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere, Ambleside, Coniston, Hawkshead, Grasmere, Kendal and Keswick, provide an alternative to the fells. With many shops, cafe's, pubs, restaurants, theatres and art galleries there is something for everyone.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Thorncliffe Bed and Breakfast, Windermere, England, United Kingdom.
