Tillamook Rock Lighthouse in Cannon Beach, Clatsop County, United States | Lighthouse

One mile west of Tillamook Head in Cannon Beach, Lighthouse Rock rises from the ocean. Tillamook Rock Lighthouse, established in 1881, is one of the most exposed Lighthouse structures in the world. Because of the high cost and difficulty of maintenance, it was decommissioned in 1957. Today, Tillamook Rock Lighthouse serves as a columbarium, which the owners hope will provide sustainable funds to maintain this historic landmark. The Lighthouse is best viewed from Ecola State Park, Cannon Beach.
