Welcome to the Multi Award Winning Ullapool Museum & Visitor Centre, situated in Ullapool, Scotland. . Housed within a restored Thomas Telford Parliamentary Church, originally built in 1829, the Museum tells the story of Lochbroom -   the land and its people, through a blend of traditional and multimedia displays.

The Ullapool Museum, Ullapool, Scotland, is now shut for the winter season and will be open on Friday 21st March, 2008  -  Easter Friday. During the winter we do our best to accommodate any requests to open the Museum - please give really good notice, and when contacting the Museum, please note that the office will only be manned part-time.

At Ullapool Museum one can admire the famous tapestries and quilts, crafted by local people to celebrate Ullapool’s Bicentenary in 1988 and one can listen to them telling the story of the panels on the Museum's inphone system.

Once most children arrive Ullapool Museum, they make a bee-line for the schoolroom, where they are fascinated to see the old writing slates, the dreaded ‘strap’ and listen to the teacher and pupils describing school days of the past.

Catch a glimpse of some of Lochbroom’s earliest settlers and find out how they made a life in this remote and hostile environment.

The Ullapool Museum have an extensive archive of local reference material and a full index is available. The Museum's photograph archive holds 1,400 photographs of local interest and the Museum also offers a photograph copying service.
