OPEN WATER
As an Open Water Diver, you will know the basics of SCUBA Diving. Your training will start in the classroom. Sessions in our on-site heated pool will help familiarize you with your equipment, and give you the confidence to seek out the ocean. Your training will culminate in five open water dives, where you will see first hand the ocean's wonders. Visit the silent world of inner space as only SCUBA Diving can take you. See an unspoiled paradise with creatures unknown to your imagination. Basic Openwater classes starting weekly! Your journey starts here at Underwater Schools of America.
ADVANCED OPEN WATER
This class is designed to improve open water skills as well as introduce advanced Diving skills. The course is made up of four specialties that are your choice. These specialties include night/limited visibility Diving (see below), deep Diving, dive planning (see below), wreck Diving, boat Diving, Nitrox, underwater photography with either 35mm or digital cameras, equipment techniques, dry suit Diving (you must purchase your own dry suit), spear fishing, and underwater navigation (see below). Each specialty has at least one classroom session and one to two open water dives. You must be at least fifteen years old and open water certified. Dive smarter and more confident as a well-trained diver!
STRESS AND RESCUE
Finally, a scuba educational program that deals with the realities of Diving. How can you depend on your buddy if you can't take care of yourself? The primary objective of this course is learning to prevent accidents from happening. This class also deals with the ideas of stress and how they affect the diver in and out of the water. Learn techniques of self-reliance and self rescue, and skills to rescue other divers.
MASTER DIVER
Once you complete your four specialties in the advanced course and the stress and rescue program, you can apply for your Master Diver card.
DIVE CONTROL SPECIALIST
The next step in the SSI system! The Dive Control Specialist program is the pinnacle of training prior to becoming a professional instructor. Having completed the core modules of the SSI Advanced Program, SSI Rescue Diver Program, and Master Diver Program, a diver is now ready to progress into the DiveCon Core Modules.
ADAPTIVE SCUBA
Underwater Schools of America is pleased to offer an adaptive scuba program. Two of our certified instructors can teach people with physical disabilities how to dive. Adaptive students must have a dive buddy trained to dive with them.
