Established in 1899 by the Third Utah Legislature three years after Utah received statehood, Utah Arts Council in Salt Lake City, United States, is the primary agency in Utah through which state and national funds combine to stimulate and encourage arts in the state. Utah Arts Council distributes funds appropriated directly for the arts. It acts as a state coordinator and advisor having an awareness of various programs that may be underway at any given time around the state.
