Welcome to Vintara Brewery, Rutherglen, Australia, home to Bintara beers which are all about food matching. Having come from the wine industry and understanding that the consumers want great taste and drinkability, Michael and Lisa produce beers that taste great, match with food and are very palatable.
The Vintara Brewery produces 100% natural beer with only Grain, Malt, hops, yeast and water used in the brewing process. It is naturally carbonated, that is, fermented in closed tanks to keep the CO2 derived from the fermentation process fused into the beer to give it it?s effervescence.
So as to use absolutely no preservatives at all, our beer is pasteurized (heated to 60 degrees for ten minutes) in either Keg or glass form.
Vintara Brewery's pale ale has been handcrafted in the tradition of the best British pale ales. The warm fermentation and extra hops create a fruity nose. The addition of both crystal and pale malts gives the beer a full and flavoursome palate. The hops balance this with a long and strong finish.

Bintara Black Beer is based on the traditional style of an Irish Foreign Export Stout: full bodied, hoppy and higher in alcohol. We have handcrafted this black beer with generous amounts of roasted and dark chocolate malts to give a lifted malty aroma, creamy head, rich dark colour and a velvet smooth finish on the palate.

Vintara Brewery'sBintara produces a seasonal beer for its brewmasters club - styled on bigger beer styles from around the globe Michael tries to match their style to the Australian palate.
The Vintara Brewery is owned by Lisa and Michael Murtagh who are both 3rd generation Rutherglen families and have been involved in the wine industry for many years.
The photo on the Bintara label and logo features Michael?s grandfather in the center and was taken during the first world war when the local farmers banded together to work the fields of those families who had men away at war.
The name Bintara is a derivative of Vintara, which is the name of the property where Lisa and Michael live, being a Vineyard and on top of a hill - Tara being Gaelic for a hilltop meeting place and a sacred site in Ireland. Tara is also the name of the original farm owned by Michael?s great grandfather, who settled in Rutherglen around 1850.
