Welcome to Volcano Art Center, Volcano Village, Hawaii, United States.
This dynamic, powerful environment, where new land is being formed every day, has inspired the Hawaiian people and their crafts, songs, dances, and legends for centuries. Today, this area continues to draw artists, performers, writers, scientists, and educators.
Exhibits, demonstrations, and special events take place at our Gallery, featuring artwork by over 300 artists inspired by this awesome locale. Housed in the historic 1877 Volcano House Hotel adjacent to the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park visitors center, the VAC Gallery is operated under a cooperative agreement with the National Park Service.
a place where artists, writers, naturalists, and creative spirits of all ages gather to draw inspiration from a pristine rainforest on the most beautiful volcanic island in the world. The Volcano Art Center's new arts and environmental education campus at Niaulani is this place. Currently, the administrative offices of VAC are located on site, and eventually there will be an education center, art studios, classrooms, and visiting artist's residence. The beautiful wooded site is located on Old Volcano Road in Volcano Village, near Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. A natural fern, 'ohi'a, and koa forest envelops this property of 7.4 acres, where an ongoing project to restore the native rainforest and remove invasive plants is underway.
