Set in it?s own grounds on the edge of the picturesque village of Hawkshead, England in the United Kingdom, Walker Ground Manor is truly somewhere special. This beautiful traditional English Lake District country house, dating from the late 16th century, still has many original features, with fine oak floors and panelling, and a rare barley twist oak staircase.
Full of charm and character, all our rooms at Walker Ground Manor are individually furnished and decorated, and offer a high standard of accommodation with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In an idyllic peaceful location, Walker Ground Manor offers a superbly quiet and relaxing experience.
A short drive north from Hawkshead, England, brings Coniston, Langdale, Grasmere and Ambleside within easy reach, and with the busy centres of Windermere and Bowness just a short ferry ride away, this makes Walker Ground Manor an ideal central location for visiting the entire South Lakeland area.
Children are welcome and all our rooms can be adapted for family use, please enquire for details. We also provide a cot and high chair.
During the season we serve breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the garden. Whilst in the winter, we use the house dining room with its original oak panelling and log fire.
We have a beautiful private woodland garden with a natural stream. This is ever changing with the seasons and will offer a different outlook each time you visit.
Whether it?s unwinding in the lounge in front of the log fire, catching the early spring sun in the conservatory, or experiencing the tranquillity of the garden, you are sure to find somewhere to rest and relax whilst at Walker Ground Manor in Hawkshead, England.
