Walmar is a small, family run guesthouse in Ambleside, offering bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of the United Kingdom's beautiful Lake District.   Open all year, we are ideally situated for a perfect country holiday, with a truly home from home atmosphere in this fine Victorian house.

Situated in Ambleside, the very heart of the Lake District,  Walmar is perfectly positioned as a base for your holiday in one of the most beautiful National Parks in the world!  With countless activities, excursions, and attractions for you to enjoy right on your doorstep, you'll appreciate the comfort and hospitality of your hosts when you return to the Walmar after a full day of adventuring.

Walmar's owners Malcolm and Doreen Hodgett have many years experience in the hospitality industry in the Lake District, and look forward to welcoming you soon.  

The Walmar has eight beautifully furnished bedrooms each with private facilities, tea and coffee tray and color television, one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor.   There is a private car park at the rear of the house and we have full central heating for your comfort.

At  Walmar we offer a full English breakfast to start your day, or a lighter option if you wish.  Evening meals can be taken in Ambleside, there is a wealth of choice of restaurants all within a few minutes from our door.

Our room facilities include colour Television,tea & coffee making facilities,central heating.   All rooms are fully double glazed and have hair dryers and ironing facilities are available on request.

As well as this Walmar offers drying facilities for your outdoor clothing, a private car park and is a strictly non smoking establishment.
