Welcome to the Grand Vision Theatre, San Pedro, United States. Built in 1931, the Warner Grand, San Pedro is the only one of the three Warner Brothers art deco theaters in Los Angeles that is still intact AND fully functioning with a calendar of events appealing to a range of interests, including classic and foreign films, youth programs, drama and contemporary and classical music.
Dubbed "the castle of your dreams" by Jack Warner Jr. on opening day, the Warner Grand is once again a center for family, fun and culture in the Harbor area of Los Angeles. The Warner Grand Theatre is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also a City of Los Angeles Cultural Historic Landmark.
Grand Vision Foundation is a non profit volunteer-run 501 (c)3 organization whose mission is to preserve and promote the historic Warner Grand Theatre and educational and cultural activities in and around the Theatre. Grand Vision was formed in 1996 by concerned citizens reacting to a proposal to turn the Warner Grand into a swap meet, and called for the community and the City of Los Angeles to save the Theatre. We have remained a Friends group ever since, working closely with the City's Department of Cultural Affairs, which now manages the building. Over the years, Grand Vision has produced many events including concerts, youth musicals, a youth drama camp, film series, a 75th anniversary extravaganza and many special events. We have also raised the funds and overseen the restoration of the Theatre's 1500+ seats and modernized the film equipment, stage rigging and more. Our goal is to become a regionally-significant performing arts center and film house while preserving our historic and community character.
New projects include increased efforts to promote the Theatre's season calendar and continued decorative and technical improvements. We also need YOUR help to repair the dangerously deteriorated section of the beautifully painted upper lobby ceiling which is now held up by scaffolding.
