Washbrook Barn Bed and Breakfast is tucked away in a peaceful rural valley on the outskirts of Kingsbridge, England, United Kingdom. This stone built barn has just been converted into a beautiful house by Penny Cadogan. Huge windows, painted Wedgwood blue, fill the house with light. Rooms are airy and bright with soft cream carpets and warm wood underfoot. There are two main guest bedrooms at Washbrook Barn Bed and Breakfast, each with a bath and a serious shower. Beds are superbly comfortable and made up with the finest cotton sheets.
There is also a twin-bedded room which can be booked with either main bedroom, making it ideal for families. Each room has its own coffee and tea making kit and there is a fridge-freezer for guest use. Local farm eggs and homemade marmalade are always on the breakfast table in the pretty dining room.
Penny spent many years cooking overseas before settling in Devon thirteen years ago, when her daughter Rosie was born. Before moving to Washbrook, England, Penny ran little Pittaford, a very successful Bed and Breakfast near Slapton.
Washbrook Barn Bed and Breakfast is quietly situated with a very pretty, private garden, and the house is only a stone's throw from the mill stream that marks the end of the lane. Surfing, sandy beaches and rock pools are a ten minute drive away at Bantham and Thurlestone, or closer to home, there are lovely walks from the house: over the hill to Bowcombe Creek or across to the quayside at the head of the estuary.
Kingsbridge, England, an easy walk away, holds markets twice a week, and Fore Street has some very browsable shops as well as a wide choice of places to eat.
