Welcome to Waverly Place Bed and Breakfast located in the Corbin Park historic district of Spokane, in the United States. As Corbin Park's first home, Waverly Place Bed and Breakfast, a 1902 Queen-Anne style Victorian mansion was built by Harry J. Skinner, a prominent builder, as his family home.
Owners Marge Arndt and her daughter Tammy, cordially invite you to stay.
The Corbin Park historic district is located on the site of the first Washington-Idaho fairgrounds, where at the turn of the century, Spokane locals enjoyed sulky and harnessed teams racing on what was once described as "one of the fastest half-mile tracks west of the Mississippi." Spokane's Gentleman's Riding Club was established near the track, and racing was considered a major social event to be patronized by many of the city's prominent citizens. The fairgrounds eventually evolved into Spokane's second park, Corbin Park, designed by the renowned Olmstead brothers, who also designed New York's Central Park. Today the twelve acre park is a favorite destination for those who enjoy jogging or strolling the one mile oval surrounded by turn of the century homes, most of which were built before 1918.
The Waverly Suite is the most requested room at Waverly Place Bed and Breakfast. The bedroom with it's copper and brass enameled queen bed embellished in down and quilts, overlooks the pool and gardens. From your bedroom, follow the reflected colors of the stained glass window up the stairs to your third story sitting room and bath. Here you will find dormered window seats, overstuffed loveseat, and James the butler. The bath is decadent with a tiled shower and iron clawed soaking tub perched on a platform with a view of the park.
