Welcome to the Westgate Inn, Winchester, England in the United Kingdom. Westgate Inn is conveniently located at the top of the High Street overlooking the medieval Westgate and a short walk from the railway station and Tower Street multi-storey car park.
Westgate Inn has operated since 1877 when the railways extended their network from London. At that time a trip to the West-Country could take more than two days and journeys needed to be broken along the way.
A network of inns was developed along the route to accommodate travellers. Now the train takes merely an hour from London and Winchester, England is a hugely popular holiday centre with its beautiful architecture and historic sites.
Much enjoyed by both business travellers and tourists alike. The relaxed atmosphere of the bar and wonderful food including the best steaks in town make the inn a popular spot.
Tower Street Car park is very close by and our advice is to park your car there and walk around the city or jump on the hopper ?Park & Ride? bus.
We have 8 rooms in total. 6 rooms are double with en-suite facilities. Additionally we have one double and one twin with a shared bathroom.
All rooms are individually decorated in traditional style and the bathrooms are equipped with powerful showers and shaver points. Televisions, tea and coffee making facilities can be found in each room.
Our bar has a wide range of well kept real ales and a varied wine list. Bottled beers and soft drinks along with tea and coffee are available all day.
Wi-Fi access is available in the bar.
The restaurant serves the best steaks in town. Hampshire bred, grss fed and hung for a minimum of 21 days. Seasonal home cooked dishes and great puddings, generously portioned, afford something for every taste.
