Established in 1893 the Wrkington Golf Club boasts a James Braid designed 18 hole course that enjoys distant views of the western Lakeland mountains. The Workington Golf Club started first as the “West Cumberland Golf Club” on a piece of land lying just off the beach at Siddick, on the outskirts of Workington in 1893. The Workington Golf Club has over 750 members spread across all sections. The Club is actively involved in encouraging Golf for Juniors with a section numbering over 100. Any Junior . under 16, interested in trying his or her hand at Golf should contact the Club's Junior Section.
The clubhouse at the Workington Golf Club has a large lounge bar and smaller games bar featuring snooker table and Sky Sports coverage. Bar prices are competitively priced.
Adrian and his staff welcome you to the Golf Pro shop at Workington Gold Club which is open seven days a week. The shop is open to the general public and as well as club members.
The pro shop offers a wide range of merchandise from all the top leading brands in a well stocked shop.
Brands include: Titleist, Ping, Callaway, Odyssey, Mizuno, Taylor Made, Footjoy and many others.
Tuition is available by appointment. The Workington Golf Course is set on the fringe of the Lake District with Ennerdale Water, Crummock Water , Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite Lake nearby. The towns of Workington, Whitehaven, Cockermouth and Keswick are all within easy reach and if you wish to combine Golf at Workington with another round , the joys and challenges of Silloth, Seascale, Whitehaven, Maryport and Cockermouth Golf Courses are not too far away.
